Tiger Woods & the Paddy Power payout!

I have been known to hack around the odd course for a few hours but I never got involved with the golf markets on Betfair, but I can imagine there was carnage last night with Tiger Woods losing for the first time when leading going into the final day.
Tiger will be licking his wounds this morning of not securing the last major of the year, but not as much as the numpties over at Paddy Power who decided to payout on the world number 1 after round 2.
I do love how Paddy Power lead with their chin when it comes to paying out and according to their PR team, this one has cost the firm over a £1million
Paddy Power said: “It takes a special kind of dimwit to turn what should have been our best ever golf result into our worst. Paddy Power punters are obviously the big winners here and have made like bandits getting paid out on Tiger as a winner. Our only saving grace is that Harrington didn’t do the business, thank God!”
Tiger who was in great form going into the USPGA was trading below 3.0 on Betfair before a ball was hit and lower 1.20 in the final round, was caught and beaten by world number 110 YE Yang who was matched at 1000 on Betfair.
Yang is certainly the biggest priced winner of this years majors and the first Asian born winner of major and he drew level with Woods on the 14th hole with an Eagle, before holding his nerve in the run-in.
